Well done to Nobbys who competed at the Branch carnival at Fingal Beach over Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Contending with large waves on Saturday and blue bottles both days and a shark alarm on Sunday, Nobbys took out a silver medal in the Junior March Past. Nobbys U14s Max Errington came 1st in the Newcastle Permanent Beach Points for the year winning $50, Lachlan Terry 2nd with $35 and Connor Edwards third with $25. Notable placings included gold medals in the U14 boys relay (Max, Lachlan, Connor and Jacob Mason), U14s sprints (Lachlan), U14s flags (Connor), U13s flags (Jasmin Thomas). Silver medals were also won in the U14s sprint (Connor), U14s Flags (Lachlan), U13s Flags (Ruby Browne) with Bronze Medal for U12 Flags (Emily Ryan). Thanks to Larry Henare, Brad Thomas and Mark Honnery for water safety, Loretta Browne, Angela Gee, Donna Terry and Natasha Ryan for officialling. The kids also did really well in the big surf finishing middle of the pack.

Nobbys Blue also competed today in the Reserves Section of the Streets Series moved to Umina due to the large swell, taking out the Final. That’s two wins in two starts… Well done Dave and the boys.
